Teen Doc Workshop 2026
A free documentary filmmaking workshop for teenagers aged 14 to 18 from Macedonia, 6–12 December 2026 in Prilep.
Teen Doc Workshop is an educational programme intended for teenagers aged 14 to 18 from Macedonia who want to learn more about creative documentary filmmaking and media literacy, develop their creativity, and collaborate with peers from the region.
The 2026 edition of the Teen Doc Workshop will take place from 6 to 12 December in Prilep (Macedonia), as part of the 11th edition of Winter Apricots – Prilep International Film Festival.

During the Workshop, participants will gain knowledge and skills in creative documentary filmmaking in an engaging and hands-on way. Through teamwork and with the support of experienced mentors and consultants, they will produce three short documentaries, each up to seven minutes long, going through the entire process – from the initial idea to the final version of the film. Before meeting in person, participants will have the opportunity to get to know each other and acquire basic media literacy skills through two online workshops held in November and December.
The documentaries will be produced under the mentorship of award-winning Serbian director Dejan Petrović and Ana Aleksovska, film director, screenwriter and producer; with additional guidance from Elena Melloncelli, cinematographer, filmmaker and festival organiser; Darko Gorgieski, director of Winter Apricots – Prilep International Film Festival; Slađana Petrović Varagić, cultural manager, curator and producer; Milena Đukić, producer and cultural and communications manager from Montenegro; and Ivan Čojbašić, cinematographer and producer from Montenegro.
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
The working language of the Workshop is English.
The Teen Doc Workshop is organised by Winter Apricots – Prilep International Film Festival, in collaboration with IFC Filmart and Underhill, with the support of the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB), under the umbrella of the Network of European Foundations.
Both submission and participation in the Workshop are free of charge.
The Organizer will, subject to available funds, partially or fully cover participants’ travel costs. Participants are encouraged to use sustainable modes of transport whenever possible, including public transport (bus or train) and shared transport.
